Recently, a genre that was undercover has come to the light. Clean, Wholesome Romance. It's interesting that this is a category because historically it didn't have to be said. If you were reading a regency then you knew it was clean. If there was going to be any bodice ripping scenes the cover gave you a hint and the blurb on the back confirmed it.
Today the covers are so generic, you're not sure what you're going to get. The blurb and author self identification has become a necessity. An interesting question that came up on one of my meetings was: Is kissing allowed in a clean romance? My thoughts would be as long as it doesn't progress to groping it's okay. I met some women who said no, clean means no kissing.
What are your thoughts.
